History

An initiative that started in 2008, Reduced to Clear aimed to reduce the food wastage in New Zealand. Previously end of line stock, slightly damaged stock or other ‘lesser quality’ groceries were disallowed by big shopping retailers so thrown away by the suppliers. Reduced to Clear aimed to reduce the amount of food that went to waste, dealing directly with the suppliers to sell this stock at a reduced price to their customers. While the retailer is known to stock snack foods and cleaning items, it has a lot of grocery items across the board.
