About SuperValue

SuperValue is a locally owned and operated supermarket. They have locations across New Zealand and stock general grocery needs such as meat, vegetables, fruit, canned goods, household cleaning items and cosmetics. 

The supermarket chain aims to provide good quality service to its local customer base. They pride themselves on having owners who live and work within the local community. And subsequently the culture of the supermarkets serves the needs of the local community. They aim to cater the local community well, their range varies between the stores.  

SuperValue has a “fresh promise”, whereby if the customer is not satisfied that their purchased produce is not fresh to the quality expected by the customer they will refund and replace the item. Either returning your product in the packaging or providing the receipt of the product with the unused product will warrant a refund. 

The supermarket also partakes in several sustainability initiatives, one major initiative is ‘tackling period poverty’ where they provide lower cost sanitary products. They also work to lower the use of plastic bags in their products and only sell paper straws. 

SuperValue also provides both online shopping options and in store shopping, the online shopping is only offered at selected stores. They also have gift cards available to purchase online or in store.

SuperValue is a locally owned and operated supermarket chain, a subsidiary of Woolworths NZ. They were established in 1964, the first store that was opened was in Christchurch. The supermarket has become a local grocery store across the country, with a distinctive red and yellow exterior.
